Biography

Jun Liu, B.sc – Exercise Science, Pilates & Tai Chi Instructor

Jun Liu is a STOTT certified Pilates instructor. She has been actively studying health, fitness and body work for more than 20 years. She holds a BSc degree in Biochemistry from Beijing, China as well as a BSc degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University. Her athletic experiences in gymnastics, track and field, Wu Shu, Tai Chi have been a great influence in her teaching style.

Jun has completed STOTT Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cardillac, Chair, Barrels Training as well as Rehabilitation courses. She has practiced in various Hong Kong & Beijing studios and has adapted different skills to her teaching. Jun’s teaching also draws upon her experience practicing and instructing Tai Chi in China, including Beijing Chinese Medicine University where she has learned to guide movement using Chinese methods of manutherapy.

Jun likes to work with people in varying levels of condition, from athletes to casual practitioners to help them reach their goals and ideal fitness level. She also practices rehabilitation for clients with injuries.

Erin Flynn has enjoyed a career as a dance artist and teacher since the mid nineties and began teaching Pilates in the last five years. Certified through Peak Pilates (a method loyal to the classical style of Joseph Pilates), Erin integrates her knowledge of dance, yoga and somatic training with the Pilates method to develop core strength, body awareness and healthy alignment. Certified on the mat, reformer, chair and barrel, Erin teaches reformer sessions and group classes at various studios through out Montréal. Erin began Pilates as a complement to her dance training, and has studied with Johanna Abbott, Diane Miller, Sara Wiskar, and at the studios Spinale Movement, Inspiration Pilates and Ann McMillan Pilates. Her dedication to continuing her education as a practitioner and teacher is ongoing. In addition to Pilates, Erin has studied diverse training techniques, such as completing her Yoga certification at Naada Yoga, Anatomy with Irene Dowd & Pat Miner, Alexander technique with Erma Taves, Bartenieff Fundamentals with Bill Evans, Klein technique with Jeremy Nelson, Angelique Wilkie, Russell Malephant & Roberto Galvan and physical education through the YMCA’s Fit program.

 

Lara Kramer is a choreographer, performer and teahcer based inMontreal. Since 2006,
Lara has been teaching pilates and movement. She has taught inMontreal,Vancouver,Londonand at the Banff Centre.  Lara received her Certification in 2007 with Stott Pilates inMontrealand her BFA in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University 2008.  Continually influenced by her training in dance, Lara’s classes aim to inform and create curiosity about the health and well-being of the body.  The accessibility pilates is what initially intrigued Lara while recovering from a dance injury. She appreciates how its specific method supports efficient ways of connecting intricately with the body as well how its principles can be integrated into daily life. She encourages her students to be accountable for their bodies through understanding their limitations and strengths.

Anastasia Polito has been active in the sports arena since the age of 2. In her teens she was a division 2 national swimmer, and later became a professional Olympic distance triathlete, racing forCanada’s National Development Team from 2002-2005. She finished as high as 4th in International Triathlons, 6th at Canadian Nationals and 10th at IronmanUSA. Anastasia now combines more leisurely training with sports coaching and teaching pilates; she loves to share her knowledge and encourage others to work towards their goals! She is also an Ayurvedic Thaï massage practitioner and the creator of “Energi Bath” which offers hand-made, organic & fair trade body care products, some specifically designed to benefit athletes and active lifestyles!
